This chapter examines the significant importance of digital inclusion for global sustainable development and human rights in the age of rapidly expanding AI. The chapter discusses meaningful digital inclusion, which is fundamentally defined and it has been linked to both the SDGs and human rights while examining the many components of the digital divide. The chapter demonstrates how all types of digital inclusion are important and can be accelerators of economic empowerment, health, education, gender equality, governance strengthening, and sustainability on a global level. It provides critical analysis of AI's transformative promise while providing analysis of the many human rights risks that have emerged. We outline comprehensive approaches that deal with national and regional level policies, global governance capacities for AI, multi-stakeholder approaches and capacity building. The chapter ends with recommendations, recalling the vital inter-linkage among the recommendations for designing a truly human-centric, equitable and sustainable digital future for everyone.
